Teens: do not go on inappropriate sites for you may get viruses, do not talk to strange people online, and never give personal information out.
20s: get pop up blockers and do not put personal info on sites such as twitter, facebook, or charoulette.
50s: do not open unknown emails, and never give your information whether it is credit card or house addresses.
70s: I would recommend not getting on the computer. Enjoy your life! But if you must then use websites that you know previously have never let you down.

The thieves of identity theft do it for Obtain credit, Steal money from a victim's existing accounts, Obtain credit cards from banks and retailers, Establish accounts with utility companies, Apply for loans, and File bankruptcy. Victims have told before that one of the most scariest things is if the thief actually files for bankrupy under your name. Because of all the vulnerable areas where we can be attacked, we should all be very diligent in practicing identity theft prevention.

chat rooms: 13-17

Conversations like these can hurt people feelings. Chat rooms like Omegle are made to get out of reality into a fantasy. People on chat rooms are sometimes lonely, bored, or even just plain stupid. Little do they know that as soon as they click on link they are exposed to a different reality. The virtual world known as the internet.

Instant messaging like these are very unnecessary and very wrong. Have any of you ever experienced anything like this… I would hope not. chat rooms allow you to meet many people you do not know, and while this can lead to fun friendships, it can also be a way for people who mean you harm to gain access to you. No matter how good and safe the chat, giving out personal information is something that teens should not do. This includes their real name, address, phone number, and other identifying information. Nor should teens plan to meet people in real life who were first encountered in a chat.

Chat rooms allow people to communicate unseen. This means that some people will test the limits of behavior, and engage in simple rudeness, may disrupt the chat by repeated posting of interfering messages, or by more problematic behavior, such as harassment, bullying, or grooming. Some chat rooms are public and some are private. Teens should be wary of meeting others in private chat rooms. There are many specifically sexually-oriented chats that include adult participants, including sadomasochistic chats, bondage chats, etc., i.e., chat rooms that teens should not enter.

Sexual Predators:One of the attractions of the Internet is the anonymity of the user, and this is why it can be so dangerous. A child doesn't always know with whom he or she is interacting. Children may think they know, but unless it's a school friend or a relative, they really can't be sure. Often we think of pedophiles as having access to children out on the playground and other places, but because of the way the Internet works, children can actually be interacting on their home computers with adults who pretend to be children.

Passwords: never give anyone your passwords except your parents or you may be a victim of hacking.

Social Networking sites: Social networking sites such as facebook and twitter are great just remember not to put personal info online and have privacy settings to ensure your safety.

Harrassment: If someone is ruining your supposed fun time on the internet report it to a trusted adult. No one should make your day bad by putting you down on the world of the internet. or constantly tyring to talk to you make sure to let SOMEONE know DO NOT HIDE IT!!!!

Cyberbullying: If someone is hurting your feelings or making you feel terrible about yourself tell your bff or sister or mom. NO one should get away with making someone else feel worthless. Especially with the high suicide rate today.

Sexting: a new way to expliot the body of young women today but this time it comes with a twist. They are explioting themselves. No one knows why they do it maybe for their boyfriends or because they felt pressure to. What i do know thought is that it needs to stop. Sexting makes you feel worthless and really you are no more than a dirty penny on the street.

Email: It is fun but i ain't hip :) Email is the old fashioned way to talk to your friends now its a way for scam artist and viruses to get on your computer. For your computers safety put up a firewall and pop up blockers.
